Case Studies: Meetings
Wednesday, June 18, 2003, Torgersen 3180 (1:10-2:00 pm)
- Attendees: Jack, Con, Jonathan
- Con discussed his effort to summarize the overall results of last month's workshop.
- This chart was originally proposed by Jonathan. It shows how this project maps to a depiction of overall teaching environment. Highlighted boxes are part of this project.

- At this point Con has combined several sources of workshop notes into a single topical structure. It still needs work to take out redundancies and futher consolidate and refine the overall topics. The areas with the most interest were:
- Support for specific instructional goals
- Sharing ideas and approaches
- Changes to the case library (function and content)
- Activities
- Evaluation
- Project as a community and its supporting web site
- Jack suggested we continue to develop this outline and then work it up as a technical report to document the projects future as a requirements specification. This could possibly lead a journal paper.
- Rough outline:
- Goals
- What we did
- Workshop
- State of the art
- Requirements
- Projects/Modules to complete requirements
- Roles
- Could be publishede in CS Education Journal (ACM), CS Education (independent), or any of the education and learning journals
- Interesting viewpoints include:
- Distributed course creation
- Distributed project methodologies
- No follow-up meeting was scheduled.
- We need an FAQ about how this project will be managed and what relationships will exist after Jack & Mary Beth move to Penn State [Action: Con]
