Changed Blog Update process (Posted by Con at 3:32 p.m.)
I changed the manual update process so it is a bit more straightforward. There are more improvements needed.
The manual process for creating new entries is now flattened entirely. There are two kinds of folders: one that crerates a date banner, and one that contains the entries themselves. Five files need to be changed in the entry: title, abstract, post, posted_by_at, and date. For each new date a date banner needs to be copied and edited. Finally, the main blog stream of includes needs to be changed. This is still too much work. It would be nice to enter the date only once, but that would require a hierarchal structure or knowledge of the filename with the date--nothing saved there. A better approach would have the site generate itself from the filenames to include the data banners. Maybe later.
Return to main weblog.
