Printable Pages

Individual sections are useful for dividing labor and sidebars/headers/footers/etc... simplify navigation, but all of these make it difficult to generate a printout of the draft for proofreading. A solution to this that typically use is to create a separate, relatively unformatted, page that embeds all of the "real" content pages:
  1. Select your folder in the Full Editor, choose "Add To..." from the "File" menu, then "Sites", then "Empty Web Site". Click "Create".
  2. Select the new site's folder ("Utitled Web Site"), and choose "Rename" from the "File" menu to change its name to something like "printout".
  3. Select the "printout" folder. Choose "Add To..." again, then "Objects", then "Blank Web Page". Click "Create", then rename this page, e.g., "printout.html".
  4. Open "printout.html" and add shorthand for each page in the parent directory that you want to embed. Embedding is done by including the object path in backslashes, e.g., "\../description.html\" will embed the contents of the description.html object in the parent directory.

For example, here is a printable page of all of the help sections in this site. The shorthand for it looks like this.
